kapiche is a coordination layer, not a bank. Real money lives in your wallet and goes straight to the people you play with. We never touch it.

The one thing to remember

kapiche is non-custodial. Your USDC stays in your own wallet from start to finish. We never hold it, never move it, never escrow it, and we take no cut of any pot. We only read your balance to confirm you have the funds for a call.

What non-custodial actually means

Most apps that involve money sit in the middle: you deposit, they hold it, they decide when you get it back. kapiche does the opposite. There is no deposit and no house account, because there is no house. The money for a real-money pot only ever moves between players.

Your wallet, your keys

Your Solana wallet is embedded via Privy and controlled by you. kapiche cannot spend from it.

We only read your balance

To confirm a real-money call we check that your USDC balance covers your stake. Reading is all we can do.

No escrow, ever

Stakes are never locked in a kapiche account or a smart-contract vault we control. Nothing to seize, nothing to lose to us.

No pot cut

We do not skim a rake or a fee from the pot. Winners get the full amount the losers owe.

Peer-to-peer settlement

When a real-money pot resolves, players pay each other directly in USDC. kapiche records who settled so reputation reflects who actually pays, but the payment is wallet-to-wallet between you and your friends.

You sign everything. Any onchain action is approved by you in your wallet. Nothing moves without your signature.
Settlement is direct. Funds go from the loser to the winner, not through kapiche. Settling up walks through it.
We keep the record. kapiche logs the result and whether each side settled, which feeds the Settles up trust score.

Real money is opt-in

You never have to touch real money to use kapiche. Free points are the default and cover the public Discover feed entirely. Real money with friends is something you choose to switch on, and it comes with guardrails.

18+. Real-money pots are for adults only.
Friends-only. Real-money pots are private and live inside a Circle or an invited 1v1 challenge. They never appear in the public feed.
A referee is required. Every real-money pot needs a chosen referee to resolve the result.

Your money never leaves your control

Because settlement is peer-to-peer and kapiche is non-custodial, the worst case in a kapiche outage is that you settle a debt directly with the other player. Your USDC was always in your own wallet.
